The ADAPT-A-BOOK™
Children’s Series concept was developed by Bart Ezra
Plaskoff, a
high school teacher who saw the need for more technological
integration in order to allow for different learning styles and to
convey positive messages and
non-threatening learning environments for children and adults
alike. The books will not only be available in printed form, but
will also be technologically enhanced by containing an Interactive
CD-ROM, which incorporates various treatments of the story
including: audio (as read and performed by various theatrical and
musical talents within the Entertainment Community). It will also
have a supporting website and may be made into an animated
featurette.
The ADAPT-A-BOOK™
Children’s Series also wishes to address the need of Assistive
and Adaptive Technology for those children, who cannot see, hear,
are physically challenged or may just simply learn visually. We
eventually wish to add enhancements such as: Sign Language and
Braille.
Each artist that lends
him/herself to a particular project will receive a negotiated
percentage of the net royalties made from the project…with an
additional 10%, which will be donated to the artist’s choice of
charity or cause.
"The Grippity Groo"
is the first book in the ADAPT-A-BOOK™ Series. It is a
wonderfully colorful children's story written by Bart E. Plaskoff,
which addresses a little boy's temper tantrum, and his realization
that it is, in fact he who is the real "Grippity Groo".
We currently have two more
children’s books, which we are available for artists to
consider. The first is called, "On The Moon…It Just
Doesn’t Matter", which is about a child in a
wheelchair, whose positive outlook on life knows no bounds. The
second is about the similarities between humans and trees called, "Tree’s
Are Just Like People".
